Jessica's Success Story
"Four years ago I committed to a lifestyle of mindfulness, activeness, and positivity. As a result, I lost over 60 pounds. It's more than just the scale, it's about how you feel & committing to a lifestyle. I never looked back. I turned into someone who, while away at a conference, will go to the gym at the hotel, who loves to hike, who has fun in the kitchen experimenting and someone who doesn't make any excuses regarding my health & wellness. This past year I was diagnosed with a herniated disc (L5-S1) and my active lifestyle was halted. I worked with a wonderful physical therapist for almost a year who taught me how to be mindful and intentional of how my back can move. I graduated from physical therapy this May. I was terrified that I would hurt myself by working out though we practiced many safe movements and techniques. Physiologically my confidence was at an all-time low.
I had been following Susan for a long time on Instagram. I remember how happy I was when she announced she earned her personal trainer certification in December. After failed attempts to work out on my own since pt, I contacted Susan in July. I knew I needed someone to assist me in coming up with a fitness plan that would protect my back and help make it stronger. 10 weeks with Susan and I feel so alive again. My confidence is back and I am working on accomplishing new health and wellness goals. Weekly I walk, weight train, and practice Pilates. I currently have no muscle spasms and no pain in my back.
As an online client, Susan is very accessible via email and/or Google Hangouts. I look forward to our twice weekly check in’s via email. Susan is very thorough in providing me feedback, thoughtful client topics and answering any questions I may have. If any of the workouts cause me any discomfort we always come up with a plan for a modification. Susan has taught me portion control through maintaining my calorie count and using tools such as MyFitness Pal. She has incorporated simple tasks like walking into my workout plan. What I love most working with Susan is that she is relatable. There are no gimmicks, what you see is what you get."
